Elsewedy Electric's Innovation unit, our HR Employer Branding and Graduate Development Program (GDP) divisions, and The Knowledge Hub Universities (TKH), have collaboratively organized an ingenious hackathon addressing climate change challenges. By convening spaces where youth can champion the fight for climate justice, and use of technology to develop new ventures and solutions for local and global challenges, we have empowered them to contribute to a sustainable future while stimulating their brilliant minds to express their innovative ideas using deeptech & cleantech.

Equipping students with revolutionary 21st-century skills, such promising gatherings aimed at fostering bright minds, while bridging the gap between the business and education sectors. During the 3-day Hackathon, participants diligently brainstormed and developed their ideas, focusing on key themes like Smart Cities, Agritech, Industry 4.0, and Energy Management.

In alignment with Egypt’s National Strategy for Climate Change 2050, the Hackathon focused on climate change, conducting tailored sessions and interactive workshops to develop innovative tech solutions to support a sustainable and green economy. The teams were mentored by dedicated academics and business professionals who assisted them in developing their proposed ideas through a cleantech domain.

Strongly believing in optimizing technology to empower employees to compete globally, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC has pledged to increase its intellectual capital value by providing technical support, guidance, and monetary prizes for the winning teams. A judging panel has assessed the feasibility of exhibited solutions, and a closing ceremony is held afterward where Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy - President and CEO of ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC – personally handed awards to the three winning teams.

Generally, this Hackathon was an inspirational experience. It gathered so many talents under one roof, working together, learning through hands-on experiences, and leveraging their creativity to find tech-related solutions that address Egypt’s most pressing challenges.
