Elsewedy Industrial Development Signs Agreement with Unibon at Sokhna 360 with Investments of USD 36 Million

Elsewedy Industrial Development has signed an agreement with Chinese company Unibon to establish an industrial project at Sokhna 360 for manufacturing polyester staple fabrics from continuous filaments, with total investments of USD 36 million. The project is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 160 million square meters, with an anticipated annual production value of approximately USD 60 million. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohamed Mostafa, Chief Financial Officer of Elsewedy Industrial Development, and Mr. Zhang Wan Tsai, Chairman of Hubei Unibon, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, and senior representatives of Hubei Unibon and Saikefu Nonwoven. 

Unibon specializes in technical textiles, focusing on the research, development, production, and global supply of high-performance nonwoven textiles made from continuous polyester filaments, as well as geotextiles. Its products serve as essential materials in construction waterproofing and infrastructure engineering, including asphalt waterproofing membranes, road reinforcement, infrastructure protection, and civil engineering projects. Relying on advanced automated production systems, the new factory will supply customers across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe with consistent, high-quality materials and integrated supply chain solutions. 

The investment marks an important milestone in Unibon's expansion into the Egyptian market, following an in-depth assessment of opportunities in Egypt's technical textiles sector and driven by the country's strategic location and strong connectivity to key markets across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
