COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT
This is the most efficient type of power plant, using both a gas and a steam turbine to deliver 60% greater efficiency as well as lower operating costs and fuel consumption. Elsewedy Electric have extensive experience in combined cycle power plants. We helped to build the biggest combined cycle plant in Egypt as well as plants elsewhere in Africa and the Gulf. We can manage the EPC of civil works and site preparation, EPC of all balance of plant equipment and systems, erection works and testing and commissioning.
DIESEL ENGINE POWER PLANT
In this configuration a diesel engine drives an alternator to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Despite the high cost of diesel fuel, diesel power stations are suitable in areas of low demand or where coal and water are hard to access. They are also used as a standby power source for hospitals, radio stations, cinemas and telephone exchanges.

This combined cycle plant of 1095MW and 130 MIGD was commissioned by Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority. We are building the plant on an EPC basis, excluding supply of the power block. Work started in July 2018 and is scheduled for completion in June 2021.

The power plant consists of three Siemens F-class gas turbines & generators, adding to the Siemens F-class gas turbine fleet already widely utilized in DEWA’s projects, and will start producing energy in late-2020. The scope of work covers the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the complete project on turnkey basis.
Partnering with the Egyptian government in its plan to increase electricity production and ensure reliable power supply in record time, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC were able to smash world’s records by connecting power to the grid in 159 days, providing electricity to more than 620,000 Egyptian families.
Ahead of schedule, Attaqa SCPP connecting 650 MW to the national grid powered by Siemens E-Class turbines (4xSiemens STG5-2000E). The Second gas- fired power plant in Mahmoudia SCPP connecting 330 MW utilizing 2 gas turbines (2x AE94.2) supplied by Ansaldo Energia.
