Iskraemeco, the global leader in smart energy solutions, in partnership with Klappir Green Solutions won first prize at Climathon 2020 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Climathon is a city-based program where citizens co-create local ideas to shared climate challenges. Climate-KIC is supported by the EIT, a body of European Union.

Climathon Ljubljana focused on the decarbonization with the support of city leaders seeking solutions and ideas on how to tackle global climate challenges on a local level. After 72 hours of brainstorming, researching, calculation, testing the concept, the Iskraemeco team presented the Green Penguin idea. The innovative solution is based on the use of smart digital technologies through gamification to achieve environmental and sustainable literacy for children and a substantial decrease of CO2 footprint for the city. The idea has been nominated for Global Climathon Awards which will be announced in 2021.
