Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) recently hosted a distinguished delegation from the Energy and Water Academy (EWA), a leading provider of technical training for Saudi youth, marking a significant milestone in the strategic cooperation between Egypt and KSA. During the visit, EWA’s representatives had the opportunity to engage with several of STA's students and observe various training programs in action.  

The highlight of the visit was the formal signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two prestigious organizations. Mrs. Hanan El Rihany, CEO of Elsewedy Technical Academy, and Eng. Tariq Alshamrani, CEO of Energy & Water Academy, has inked this groundbreaking agreement, in the esteemed presence of Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric Foundation. 

In this collaboration, STA and EWA aims at developing educational programs in the Energy and Industrial fields in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia, signifying their unwavering commitment to advancing education and technical training. Not only do they substantially contribute to the objectives of Egypt's 2030 Education Vision and Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision for sustainable development, but they also underscore the significance of fostering a knowledge-based economy rooted in innovation and training.

Aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, Elsewedy Cables KSA has signed an agreement with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) to establish a new Special Cables factory and Copper Rod factory in Yanbu Industrial City.  This initiative underscores Elsewedy Cables KSA's commitment to enhancing its manufacturing capabilities and supporting the kingdom's goals of economic diversification. 

The upcoming Special cables factory will produce a wide range of cables for various industries such as construction, power generation, and oil and gas. On the other hand, the Copper Rod factory will focus on producing copper rods, which serve as the essential raw materials for manufacturing electrical products like cables, wires, and transformers. 

Expected to be completed within two years, this project is poised to create hundreds of new job opportunities and contribute significantly to the development of Yanbu Industrial City and the local economy. ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC for Transmission and Distribution (EETD), a subsidiary of ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC (EE), has inked an EPC contract with Al-Ghazala Energy Company, the KSA-based subsidiary of Jinko Power Technology Co., Ltd. (SSE 601778) for the 300 MW Saad Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Independent Power Producer (IPP) Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through this full-wrap turnkey pact, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC’s subsidiary shall competently manage the design, supply, and construction works and perform the operation and maintenance for the initial years.

Empowering Better Lives since 1938, EETD was meticulously chosen by the renowned IPP developer, Jinko Power, to reduce Riyadh's CO2 emissions by more than 0.5 million metric tons/year.  Located 85 km (about 52.82 mi) to the east of Riyadh City, the Saad Project is the part of Category B projects under the third round of competitive tenders of Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP).

Elsewedy Cables KSA, has signed an agreement with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) in Saudi Arabia to establish a new Special Cables factory and Copper Rod factory in Yanbu Industrial City. The investment for this project amounts to SAR 1.2 billion.

This move is in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and reduce reliance on oil exports. The project will also help to meet the growing demand for cables and other electrical products in the kingdom.

The new factories will be located on two land plots allocated by the RCJY in Yanbu Industrial City. The Special cables factory will produce a wide range of cables for use in various industries, including construction, power generation, and oil and gas. Meanwhile the Copper Rod factory will produce copper rods, which are used as raw materials in the production of various electrical products, such as cables, wires, and transformers.

The project is expected to be completed within two years and will create hundreds of new jobs. It is also expected to contribute to the development of Yanbu Industrial City and the local economy.

Elsewedy Electric KSA received a contract for 1.5 billion SAR to deliver Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) cables for the Berri Gas Plant Expansion. As part of Saudi Aramco’s Berri Oilfield Augmentation Project, the project entails the building and installation of 20 kilometers of offshore pipelines and 70 kilometers of onshore pipelines.

The Berri gas plant first began operation in 1977 and later added Sulphur recovery trains and new storage tanks to maintain large quantities of gas production by 2004.

With the new expansion, Saudi Aramco has plans to outspread the water injection system of the Berri oilfield and double the capacity to produce 250,000 barrels of the Arabian Light Crude while aiming to reach a maximum sustained crude production capacity at 12 million barrels of oil a day in 2023. The outstanding effort to expand the Berri Gas Plant is one that Elsewedy Electric KSA is proud to be a part of. To ensure optimal performance, the LV and MV cables have been rigorously tested and manufactured to meet the highest industry standards.

The program is said to greatly improve Saudi Aramco’s ability to produce oil and process gas, enhancing both its position as the top integrated energy supplier while meeting the long-term demand for petroleum.

Three seminars and business workshops were organized respectively by Elsewedy Electric KSA in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah to meet current and prospected clients. Key officials in the government, consultants and contractors attended the events; as they are regularly held for business development.
