HTLS
High-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors optimize the efficiency of overhead lines. By reconducting existing lines, they also avoid the time and cost of installing new transmission lines or acquiring tower sites with right-of-way issues. HTLS conductors increase power flow and can accommodate future demands for increased power.
They are made from innovative aluminum materials that operate continuously at temperatures up to 250°C. Materials used for traditional overhead conductors are limited to a maximum operating temperature of 80°C.
- Aluminum Conductor Composite Core (ACCC)
Aluminum Conductor Composite Core (ACCC) is a concentrically stranded conductor with one or more layers of trapezoidal shaped annealed 1350-O aluminum wires on a central core of light weight carbon-glass fiber composite.
- ACSS/MA
Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported (ACSS) cable consists of one or more layers of annealed aluminum 1350-O wires stranded over a central core of zinc-5% aluminum mischmetal alloy-coated steel wires designed to withstand most or all of the mechanical load on ACSS. The conductors are manufactured according to ASTM B 856 or customer specifications.
- ACSS/AW
Aluminum Conductor Aluminum-Clad Steel Supported (ACSS/AW) cable consists of one or more layers of annealed aluminum 1350-O wires stranded over a central core of aluminum-clad steel wires designed to withstand most or all of the mechanical load on ACSS/AW. It meets ASTM B 856, but we can also manufacture to other standards.
- TACSR
Thermal Resistant Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced (TACSR) cable consists of one or more layers of thermally resistant aluminum zirconium alloy (AT1) wires stranded over a central core of zinc-coated steel wire(s). Conforms to IEC 62004 and IEC 60888 and generally to IEC 61089; we can also manufacture to other standards.
- TACSR/AW
Thermal Resistant Aluminum Alloy Conductor Aluminum-Clad Steel Reinforced (TACSR/AW) cable consists of one or more layers of thermally resistant aluminum zirconium alloy (AT1) wires stranded over a central core of stranded aluminum-clad steel (20SA Type A) wire(s). Conforms to IEC 62004 and IEC 61232 and generally to IEC 61089, other standards are possible.
- STACIR/AW
Super Thermal Resistant Aluminum Alloy Conductor Aluminum-Clad Invar Reinforced (STACIR/AW) cable consists of one or more layers of super-thermally resistant aluminum zirconium alloy (AT3) wires stranded over a central core of stranded aluminum-clad invar wires. Invar is a special Fe/Ni alloy with a very low coefficient of linear expansion. Conforms to IEC 62004 and generally to IEC 61089/IEC 61232, but we can also manufacture to other standards.
